India have opened up a 175-run lead over England in the first Test after batting the entirety of day two in Hyderabad.
The hosts required just 64.3 overs to dismiss their opponents on day one, suggesting that batting could prove difficult on a pitch that was already turning.
However, India made relatively light work of compiling a huge total, reaching stumps on 421-7 from just 110 overs to leave England at risk of an innings defeat.
England began Friday's play looking to make inroads with India already on 119-1, and the early breakthrough came when Joe Root caught and bowled Yashasvi Jaiswal for 80.
With Shubman Gill soon following for 23, England had their tails up, but KL Rahul (86) and Shreyas Iyer (35) combined to put on 64 for the fourth wicket.

A further 65 was added by Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja before Tom Hartley took his second wicket on his debut, yet India had reached 288-5 by this point and were threatening far more.
The sixth-wicket stand reached 66 before Srikar Bharat (41) was trapped in front of his stumps by Root, while Ravichandran Ashwin was run out for just one.
Nevertheless, India were able to bat out the remaining 19.3 overs of the day, with Jadeja now 81 not out from 155 balls and Axar Patel providing support with 35 from 62 deliveries.
